Keeping Safe

At Farnham Primary School, we teach children how to stay safe whilst at school and at home. Not only do we focus on making safe and healthy decisions, we also work with teacher to help them develop their mental health and know how to keep healthy and make healthy choices.

SAFEGUARDING

At Farnham Primary School we recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of students. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued.

We are aware of an alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and will follow our procedures to ensure that all children are effectively supported and safeguarded.

The information on this page will summarise how we meet our safeguarding and child-protection responsibilities, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2023).

Our Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and practises apply to all staff, trustees and volunteers who work in our school.

Mrs Keenan (Acting Headteacher) is the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) for our school.

Our Deputy DSLs are: Mrs Bains, Mrs Perry, Mrs Buckley, Mrs Hall, Mrs Ravat and Mrs Ramsden. They attend specific training at least every two years to ensure that the school adheres to all school safeguarding procedures and policies.

Our Head of Safeguarding within the Trust is Mrs A Hussein. Our designated Trustee with responsibility for Safeguarding is Mrs D Bailey.

In our trust we also have Mrs M Sellers who is Director of SEN and Safeguarding.

All staff in school undertake yearly safeguarding training that covers all aspects of safeguarding as well as specific training on PREVENT and online safety. Our knowledge is regularly updated through updates and bulletins and is a key focus of our professional development at Farnham Primary School.
