Literacy Curriculum Day
On Literacy Curriculum Day, the whole school enjoyed working on creative Literacy activities. These ranged from drama and poetry to art and music.
In Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, the children thought all about history and heritage, this included work on themselves and their families as well as thinking about special memories and how life might have been in the past.
In Key Stage 2, the children commemorated the anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. They used lots of different art techniques and produced some wonderful writing.
Parents took part in an information meeting and received a booklet with ideas to help their children at home. They then went into classrooms to work with their children. We finished the day with a celebration assembly where children showed their work.
A fantastic day was had by all.
