Early skills in reading and writing include, mark making, letter recognition and pencil control in the Nursery.  These skills are developed in Reception where children learn to read and write more formally.

Making 3 letter words, first you have to find the letters....	...then when they are clean you have to match them to the cards.	There are lots of ways to practice reading and writing.
